Yes, we are erratic — but not how you think
In the woodlands of western Washington, giant boulders known as glacial erratics sit far from where they began. Carried by melting glaciers and left behind when the Ice Age receded, these stones traveled vast distances before coming to rest.
Their name comes from the Latin errare — to wander.
Understanding this changes how we see them. What first appears odd or outdated often carries a remarkable story waiting to be understood. Sometimes, what was cast aside shows us where we are now.
Erratic Press works in much the same way. We restore context to lost works of forgotten popular culture so they may be understood and appreciated again.
Founded in 2025 by writer, artist, designer, and cultural historian Paul C. Tumey, Erratic Press explores the termite-chewed fringes of culture.
We publish what deserves to be seen again.
